CHI Summer Intern Spotlight: Ali Hickman

Internship Placement: Walk-In Counseling Center

What are you working on this summer?
This summer I have been doing therapy at Walk-In Counseling Center (WICC). WICC provides free and
anonymous counseling services to individuals in Minnesota. I work on six teams with groups of amazing
therapists who volunteer their time to staff WICC clinics.

What has been the most impactful part of your internship experience so far?
Being able to intern for an organization that provides a much-needed service to the community for free is
an honor. The work that Walk-In Counseling Center does is unique, and it has been a blessing to be a
part of their mission.

What are you most looking forward to for the rest of the summer?
I am looking forward to learning from the incredible volunteer therapists and soaking in all that Walk-In
Counseling Center has to offer.
