Youth Entrepreneurship and Leadership Programs (YEP)

Global Entrepreneurship Week

Welcome to the Youth Entrepreneurship and Leadership Programs (YEP) offered by the Office for Business & Community Economic Development. The YEP was created in 2009 by the BCED to help urban youth from the Twin Cities Metro area develop a relationship with the University of Minnesota by exposing them to leadership development initiatives sponsored by the U.

The mission of the YEP department is to:

  • Inspire the next generation of urban leaders
  • Foster and develop talented youth by leveraging University resources
  • Recruit aspiring high school students to the University of Minnesota
  • Connect small businesses with intellectually curious youths

With the resources of the University of Minnesota and the help of our partners, we hope to make a sustainable difference in the Minneapolis/St. Paul community and encourage the next generation of leadership to emerge through our programs.
